It happened yesterday and I heard the honk of the school bus.  I was walking towards the gate when I heard Kyle screaming (not like a girl,ok?).  When I opened the gate, he was crying and he was hysterical.  I panicked! I thought he lost something or worst, having a nervous breakdown because of the academic overload he’s been taking in since he just transferred to new school.  I asked the school bus conductor (the person who helps kids with their bags and school stuff) what was happening.  He sheepishly told me that he was upset because of his fellow school bus mate and pointed to the school bus.  I turned and saw a small girl, looking at me.  Kyle was at that time, still hysterical and still screaming.  “Wala naman ako ginagawa. Tinutulak niya ko, binabatukan niya ko, sinasabi niya baboy ako tapos minumura niya ko!” (I wasn’t doing anything! He was pushing me, hurting me, telling me I’m a pig and he was curisng me!) How did a little girl torment my son like that? I wondered.

But I was looking at the wrong perpetrator.  I glance across the little girl and saw a big, burly boy looking menacingly at me.  “That’s him!” Kyle pointed.  I could feel my blood boil at that instant.  If steam could come out of my ears, it was doing just that at that time. And if it wasn’t a crime to hit boys, I would probably hit him with all my might.  But I didn’t (although I imagined twisting his ears), but I yelled like any mom would do. I told him, “Aren’t you ashamed?! your older than kyle! Have you no shame picking on someone much younger than you?! Your definitely in big trouble young man!” (I couldn’t say Kyle being smaller since he’s a cute, chubby kid. hehe)  The sophomore boy just shrugged and wouldn’t look at me. The nerve right?! What am I? Invisible? He wouldn’t budge or make an effort to apologize.  He messed with the wrong parent!

I called the owner of the school bus when the school bus left.  Apparently, he wasn’t informed and that another bullying incident happened also the other day.  Great way on protecting kids man. I’m definitely transferring Kyle to another school bus.  I asked for the number and the address of the bully to talk to his parents.  But he texted me the number only of the parent (like that would be a HUUUGE help).  Then I called the mom and spoke calmly to her and told her what happened.  She told me the school bus owner already called her up and explained to her what happened, she also told me she spoke to her son and told him to apologize to Kyle.  It was funny though.  It was like she actually wasn’t affected by all this that it was like the whole thing was like no big deal. I felt like yelling to her also.  What is she deaf and insensitive?! Helloooo! your son just tormented a 9-year-old kid and your son is in his puberty, what is his deal?!  No wonder her son reacted that way also.  Hey lady, if a college student bullies your son, what would you do huh?!  I would loooove to see that.  I also called up their school and informed them of what happened in case it happened again (so help me lord.. i’ll definitely twist his ears out) or it happened to some other poor, innocent kid.  Me and my husband are also planning to meet the bully and his parents personally this weekend to show them that we’re really concerned not only to Kyle but to their son’s behavior (yeah right!).

Sheesh!! Kids these days.  What is their problem? Is it really necessary for them to vent or pick on younger kids?! Is it some kind of validation of high school kids to bully?  I still can’t erase the image of Kyle shaking in anger and sadness.  What was he doing? He asked me.  I wasn’t doing anything wrong, he cried.  Sigh.  I hope to all the parents out there with young children, this wouldn’t happen to them.  What scares me is that he’ll be scarred by this and might not recover from this incident.  Aaaaaarggh!

Sometimes I’d like to think that the only reason that I’m still stuck in this desperate situation is because of reasons that is totally out of my hand.  Or simply saying, this ain’t my fault that I’m in this crap. Sheesh.

I just watched “Angels and Demons” last weekend.  I liked it better than the first movie, “The Da Vinci Code”.   It had more action and more twists.  Although, as usual, the movie plot didn’t follow the whole plot in the book, I guess it did pretty good considering it topped Star Trek in the weekend box office last May 15-17, 2009 in the US.  Ewan Mcgregor’s performance was great (hot priest! goodness! ).  Tom Hanks was, not surprising, acted well again (minus the bad hair).   Although the climax of the movie wasn’t what I thought that would happen, it blended with the movie’s screenplay.    All in all,  I give this movie a .   Not bad eh?

Let’s look first on the possibility on how Kris Allen won:

6. Danny Gokey’s loyal fans shifted their votes to Kris

We all knew Danny was a music director for his parish or church and we all know that there’s this never ending question about Adam Lambert’s sexuality. Danny’s fans might be thinking (after Danny was booted off), why should I vote someone who has a questionable sexuality? I think that’s where most of the votes came from for Kris.

But there things that needs to be pondered over Adam’s performances and his voice. Ok. Sure he gives us one helluva show.  Let’s face it. He’s a one man show.  It’s like watching the Adam Lambert show!  But does anyone remembered his audition? Simon thought he was theatrical.  Randy thought he was “ok”.  And Kara and Paula? Well.. we all know that they always love someone who has great talent. People tend to expect too much for someone with that much talent.  Even some business execs think that Adam can endorse more products like clothes, sunglasses, liquor, etc. than Kris since he has this squeaky clean, boy-next-door image than Adam’s mysterious aura.

We just can’t complain.  I’m sorry.  But the difference between the votes of the idols were like a million.  And that’s quite a lot.  So who do you really think should win? Kris or Adam? Who’s the REAL American Idol for yah?

I was glad that he did win over the over- theatrical, rocker-emo type Adam Lambert(i apologize for those who love AL).  I guess with all the hype people were showing over Adam, I grew fond and noticed what Kris can do.  Ok, so it was quite obvious what Adam can do with his tantalizing eye make up and the high notes he belted out but Kris had this different aura around.   He seemed humbler and whenever he sung, he felt the songs. He wasn’t the showy type with the grand entrance and fancy moves.  He just strutted his stuff on his guitar or his piano.  Kris was indeed the darkhorse of the competition and he deserved to win it.  Although his initial reaction was shock and on the look on his face, the result came out as a surprise. He was almost rejecting the idea that he won. hahahaha. It was really cute. But anyhoo, the final show was great with all of the guests like Kiss, Queen, Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana, etc. So Kris Allen, here’s to you and goodluck!

Heartless

Ingredients:

2 cloves of garlic

1 medium size onion, chopped

1/2 kg. bacon chopped

1 cup mushrrom, chopped

1 can of Campbell’s cream of mushroom soup

3 packs of Nestle cream

1/2kg pasta (spaghetti or fettucine)

Optional:

parsley, chopped

Directions:

Cream Sauce

1. Fry bacon, set aside. Get 2 to 3 tbsps. of the bacon oil and saute garlic, onion and mushrooms. (You can put the mushrooms first then onion then garlic)

2. Put in the bacon, cream of mushroom soup and cream. Simmer for 5 to 10 mins. Salt and pepper to taste.

Pasta

1. Just follow the package directions

Pour the cream sauce over the pasta. Sprinkle the chopped parsley.  Serve.  Eat and be merry
